PlayStation 3 racing mega-series creator explains why the most anticipated racing game in history won't be out on Nov. 2

If you didn't know better, you'd think it was April 1st: Gran Turismo 5 delayed indefinitely, will be out sometime "this holiday season," but more than that, Sony can't say. That's the nightmare scenario fans who've already waited years faced yesterday when Sony's Taku Imaski confirmed the suspension from the game's original already much delayed November 2 launch date yesterday.

"We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay," wrote Imaski on Sony's official PlayStation blog. "However, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches."

"We'll have more information for you in the near future."

Yamauchi's since hit Twitter to handle damage control, adding his own apologies to Sony's chorus and, according to Japanese news site Adriasang's translation, putting the delay down to finalization of the game's "more complicated systems."

And lest you worry delaying this late in the year sounds like a 2011 threat, Yamauchi also wrote "I believe we won't keep you waiting until then."

That whatever's wrong with Gran Turismo 5 couldn't be managed with a day one patch can't be inspiring analysts or investors, so fingers crossed for Sony's sake, to say nothing of the ostensible millions on the verge of a nervous breakdown. This is the game of 2010 for the PlayStation 3. A 2011 bump would be disastrous.

Honda Cars : All-New Honda CR-Z Sport Hybrid Coupe Makes E3 Expo Debut | 2013 New Honda Car Reviews 0

The all-new 2011 Honda CR-Z sport hybrid coupe made its Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Expo) debut today.

Evocative of many video games, the two-passenger CR-Z introduces a number of interactive features including a new three-mode drive system that allows the driver to select between Sport, Econ (Economy) and Normal driving models.

The CR-Z will go on-sale later this summer.

"E3 Expo is the perfect venue to showcase the all-new CR-Z", said Steven Center, vice president of marketing operations for American Honda. "The engaging and sporty driving experience found in the CR-Z feels like something out of the latest racing video game. Gamers will feel at home behind the wheel of the CR-Z - whether it be in front of a console or on the open road."

Along with the CR-Z debut, Honda also announced that the sport hybrid coupe will appear in several video games including:

Car Town by CIE Studios (Online, PC and Xbox Live) Nitto Legends 1320 by CIE Studios (Online and PC) Gran Turismo 5 by Sony (Sony PS3 and PSP)

While at the E3 Expo, attendees can check out the CR-Z along with a component-revealing cut-body on display in the Honda booth located outside the West Hall Lobby (booth F7).

At the booth, attendees can get information on how to download an exclusive, custom CR-Z* for Car Town and win an Apple iPad®.

Honda Cars : Toyota FT-86 G Sports Concept at the Tokyo Salon | 2013 New Honda Car Reviews 0

Toyota is showing a whole range of “G Sports” kitted up cars at the Tokyo Auto Salon (which is kinda like a Japanese SEMA) but I say by far the most interesting car there is probably this – a FT-86 Concept that’s been done up quite well.

Other than this FT-86, a number of other cars have had the G Sports treatment given to them, such as the Noah, the Voxy, the Mark X, and the Prius. Toyota’s GAZOO Racing arm has its own set of cars to showcase including a Lexus LF-A. Lexus will be showing an IS F Circuit Club Sports Concept. TRD will have a Corolla Axio “GT” TRD Turbo.

And why “G Sports”? Apparently Toyota says the letter G heralds back to the days of cars like the 2000GT and the Celica GT-Four. You know what I think? The letter G comes after F, so Toyota G Sports comes after Lexus F-Sports G-nius!

Another bonus will be a trailer released by Gran Turismo 5 that showcases the FT-86 complete with G Sports kit doing its stuff in the virtual world.
