Tokyo - In the future, cars will be equipped with features that make the car can brake automatically when a vehicle or other property that prevents the car.

This feature can stop the car in a low speed of about 30 miles per hour even though the driver did not step on the brake pedal. Very practical when motorists amid 'curved' or do not see any other cars.

Automatic brake actually began to develop in 2011, the Volkswagen knows this system as the Volkswagen City Emergency Brake, or Ford's Active City Stopnya in the Ford Focus, Mazda with Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) System in the Mazda6, with Volvo City Safety.

The latest is from Honda. Honda developed the City-Active Brake System. This protection system is one part of the new security system Honda named as "Safety Package '.

"Safety Package" will be adopted at the All New Honda Jazz to be launched in Japan this year.

As with other auto brake feature, City-Active Brake System will notify the driver via visual and audio messages if there is threat of a collision in front. If the driver still does not ngeh to risk it, the car will take over and the system will brake automatically.

Not only automatic braking, City-Active Brake System also has a feature that prevents interference when the car is turned on.

For example, when a car drove at a speed of about 10 miles per hour, when the system was the driver stepped on the pedal too deep because as one stepped on the gas pedal the brake, riders will receive audio and visual warnings. The system also reduces engine power to prevent a speeding car.

Honda Cars : 2014 Honda FIT/Jazz to be unveiled at 2013 Tokyo Motor Show | 2013 New Honda Car Reviews 0

2014 Honda Jazz

If this gives us anything, it shows what's in store for the Jazz/Fit abroad, and seeing as the car is built on a global design, this could very well be close to what the car is going to look like....
The all new generation of the Honda Jazz a.k.a. the Honda Fit has been in focus since some time now. Enough has been speculated about the upcoming generation of the car and the launch of the new Jazz is being eagerly waited for.

Now, it has emerged that the all new generation of the Honda Jazz/Fit will be unveiled before the end of this year and Mr. Dave Hodgetts, Managing Director, Honda UK had confirmed that the new car will make its public debut at the Tokyo Motor Show that is scheduled to be held in November this year.

Brazilian publication Car&Driver reports that the all new Jazz would have a 6cm longer wheelbase and hence, will have an even roomier cabin than the current model. However, the increased wheelbase won’t really affect the overall length and the new Jazz won’t be longer than 3.96m.

This means that the new Jazz will benefit from reduced excise duty in India and might be priced really well.

The new car will come with a taillight cluster that would be shaped like a diamond and the boot, at 414 litres, will offer 30 litres of more space. The new car will also get triangular reflectors incorporated into its bumpers. The car will borrow many design cues from the Urban SUV concept that was showcased at the North American International Auto Show 2013.

Powering the car might be an all new three cylinder petrol engine that might stretch a litre of unleaded to as many as 35.4 kilometers! The Brazilian market will also get 1.4L and 1.5L flex-fuel motors with 101hp and 106 hp of power.

For the Indian market, the Jazz could borrow the 1.5L EarthDreams diesel engine from the upcoming Honda Brio Amaze. This motor is being reported to have been developed alongside the much hyped Honda 1.6 litre EarthDreams diesel engine that powers the UK spec Civic.

The all new Honda Jazz could be in India by Diwali 2014.

Honda Cars : New Honda Jazz/FIT set for November unveil at Tokyo Auto Show | 2013 New Honda Car Reviews 0

A sporty new Honda Jazz/FIT will be revealed at the Tokyo show in November

Honda has confirmed that the next-generation Jazz will debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in November this year, and it will feature a sportier design inspired by the Urban SUV Concept.

The new Jazz - which will be shown as the Japanese-market Fit - is built on a completely new scaleable platform that is also set to underpin a new Juke-rivalling SUV, previewed by the Urban SUV.

Honda UK Managing Director, Dave Hodgetts said: "The Urban SUV Concept really set out a design strategy that we want all our future cars to follow".

"We want it to look sporty but we want the functionality carried over, so Jazz will still have the high seats and practicality," Hodgetts continued.

When it's unveiled in November, the new Jazz will face off against the all-new Nissan Note, which also appeared in Geneva.
Meanwhile, Honda also confirmed that SUVs larger than the CR-V currently don't make sense in Europe and aren't a part of the current product plan.

However, new hybrid systems are under development and the firm is working on a successor to the FCX Clarity hydrogen car, which is expected to be built in the hundreds. The firm sees hydrogen as the future of motoring and is hoping to have a full production model on the roads by 2020.

Honda Cars : Next gen Honda Jazz to be launched in early 2014 | 2013 New Honda Car Reviews 0

2014 Honda Jazz
2014 Honda Jazz

According to Honda, compact cars are the future and the Japanese stalwart is emphasizing on the next generation Jazz (called as Fit in some markets) and the derivatives from its platform – the next gen Honda City and the production version of the Urban SUV Concept.

The next gen Honda Jazz and the City are global products along with the upcoming compact SUV. Honda terms the trio as “Global Compact Series” and expects small and fuel efficient cars to be the next big thing globally including the U.S.

A recent report claimed that they will have next generation telematics on-board besides sporting improved fuel economy.

Honda is working on a new manufacturing plant in Mexico which would be ready by early 2014 to manufacture the next gen Jazz, City and the compact SUV. Honda expects global sales to attain 6 million vehicles by the end of March 2017 and the Mexico plant would help Honda achieve it since the global compact series is pipped at contributing 1.5 million units by then.

Caradvice.com quotes Mr. John Mendel, Executive Vice President of Honda America saying that, “We’re going to launch this 2015 Fit (Jazz) in the spring of 2014 (season stretches from March-May 2014), which is going to build on the momentum we’ve already created in the small car segment.”

We presume that the 2015 Honda Jazz, City and the new Urban SUV (confirmed for late 2013, that may recall the Honda HR-V nameplate) are important models for India. The 1.5 litre Earth Dreams unit, like Renault-Nissan’s K9K motor, can be manipulated in various ways to persuade these forthcoming new products and give them a long term assurance in diesel-driven countries.

Honda may not have got the best results with the Jazz that’s limping along today with less hope, but using diesel technology, banking on the high growth rate set to follow in the B+ segment this decade and a fancy brand to boot, there is definitely a “yes” in the Jazz’ future.

Honda has committed to achieving six million global sales by 2017, listing small cars as the key contributor to the growth.

“This March [fiscal year 2012], we will finish the fiscal year with global sales of about four million vehicles,” said Honda President and CEO, Takanobu Ito (below).

“By the end of our fiscal year in March 2017, we will challenge to have global sales of six million vehicles.
“And more than 1.5 million of this total will come from the launch of a new Honda global compact series. Including the new Fit [Jazz], the City, and an all-new compact SUV.

“I believe that small cars will be key to our future.”

Honda announced that a new, third-generation Jazz will launch in the second quarter of 2014, with production set to expand courtesy of a new production facility in Mexico to feed the North Amercian market. The Mexican facility will also build the production version of the Jazz-based Urban SUV concept previewed at the Detroit auto show, and a next-generation City sedan.

“[The Mexico plant is] set to open in 2014, it will build the next-generation Fit [Jazz],” Ito-san confirmed.

“It [Jazz] has been a great success everywhere in the world, based on the fun to drive spirit, high fuel efficiency and excellent packaging.

“I want Honda’s young engineers to feel the same joy I experienced in making fun and fuel efficient vehicles.”

Executive vice president of Honda America, John Mendel (above, left), backed his Japanese boss, saying that he expects small Hondas to drive sales in the North American region over the next four years.

“We expect small cars to be key to the needs of customers, and key to driving sales growth in North America.

“We’re confident in the continued expansion of the small car segment.

“We’re going to launch this 2015 Fit [Jazz] in the spring of 2014 [March 2014], which is going to build on the momentum we’ve already created in the small car segment.”

The next-generation Jazz is expected to arrive in Australia late next year, with sourcing expected to continue from Thailand.

Honda Cars : Honda Mini Crossover Fit Twist revealed | 2013 New Honda Car Reviews 0

Honda has revealed the rugged-looking Fit Twist crossover, built for the Brazilian market

Honda has unveiled a rugged crossover version of the Fit MPV - which is badged Jazz in the UK - at the Sao Paulo Motor Show.

A Honda spokesman told us: “People here in Brazil like cars that are a bit tougher. We’ve made it tougher and sportier so it’s aimed at younger customers.”

Despite the plastic cladding and chunkier bumpers, which give the Jazz the look of a mini-crossover, nothing has been done to the suspension.

“Raising the car means you lose stability in the corners, and customers tell us they love the way the Fit drives so we’ve kept it the same – this car is just an image change.”

Unfortunately UK buyers won’t be able to get their hands on a Twist version of the Jazz, as this is strictly a Brazilian market-only model.

However the Jazz Si, based on the 1.4 ES model with firmer suspension and styling tweaks, was revealed back in July and offers UK customers a sportier take on the popular mini-MPV.
